13. I'm interested in coaching, how do I start ?
The Club supports anyone who wishes to obtain a Coaching qualification as a result of the changes to the England Hockey membership scheme, all but the highest level are now free to participants, up to and including the Sessional Coaching qualification. Courses can be booked through the England Hockey hub here. Basic safeguarding courses need to be undertaken by all coaches (and others), however paid coaches are expected to fund their own enhanced safeguarding and first aid courses. The Club will cover the costs of any DBS checks.
In return it is hoped that Club members who have qualified will support the current Coaching team.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any executive committee member. In particular, any youngsters aged over 14 can act as assistant coaches.
