Fleet Hockey Club was formed in 1926 and Ewshot Hockey Club in 1976. The clubs merged
in 2007 following negotiations that had started in 2006.
An earlier Fleet Ladies Hockey Club existed from 1897 to 1905 but then disbanded as
members preferred the superior attractions of the newly opened North Hants Golf Club. In its
short existence this club, which had colours of grey shirt and scarlet tie, was quite successful
winning 50 of 84 matches and producing at least two Hampshire County players.
The separate clubs and then ‘our Club’ as we know it today have had intriguing, successful,
sometimes challenging but ultimately fascinating histories. Much has happened over the last
