Ladies 4s travelled a mighty distance to play Woking 6s this afternoon. The team consisted of: Ruth P, Patricia, Penny, Paddy, Neve, Mae, Becky, Ruth W, Nikki, Emily, Kate, KP and Hannah in goal. And thank you to Chloe, Anna and Vicky for helping out.
The first half started off strong- we held our position well, making Woking work hard for the ball. Some great saves made by Hannah but unfortunately we conceded one goal towards the end.
We started the second half making sure we used the width, not the middle. We did this well, but Woking had some skillfull players and scored twice more. Nikki made some great runs up the line, one of which involved Becky getting the ball which was passed to Kate who then slipped it across the D (around the keeper) to Chloe who scored!
Well done to Neve who despite getting walloped by the ball, managed to prevent another goal.
Unfortunately we conceded two more goals but our play was noticeably improved in the second half- so we’ll take that as a win.
