The Ladies 3s had a tough first league game v Purley 1s in the sunshine this morning!
We had a great start with lots of excellent passing and intensity going forwards and for the first 10 minutes we put the opposition constantly under a lot of pressure.
Angie found Nutty in an excellent space wide on the right, Nutty drove forwards before releasing a strong hit Sue P who swept the ball immediately into the goal.
Sadly, Purley were able to come back into the game with a polished PCA routine just before half time.
1-1
The second half brought chances to both sides, with Fleet having goal scoring opportunities and Purley causing problems with their quick transitions.
A promising first game ended 1-1 and 3 Purley players dropping to the floor with a quote of " that was exhausting " ??
Defending Unit-
A big thanks to Emma Garvey who stepped in to help us today.
Fantastic clearances Emma, George was sweeping up all of the 3 v 1s, Emily stayed calm on the ball and created lots of counter attacks and Nutty was "elbow out" protecting the ball and driving with purpose.
Midfield Unit-
Liv held the middle beautifully, top screen work, Mia battled up the pitch with her tenacity and EJ won most of her 1 v 1 battles with their strong RF.
Chloe kept the ball strong and looked to get the ball away quickly to the forwards.
Angie was amazing ???
Attacking Unit-
Scals won lots of PCAs and created chances for her team, Tarren ran her socks off up and down the line and Sue moved the defenders to create space for others. Fantastic goal too!
