Early days - but good enough at the cusp of a new season
Ladie's 3, buoyed from Thursday's training session which focused on stick to ball retention and an attacking approach, met Alton 3's, this weekend.
With an experimental approach a new formation was tested in the playground of a pe-season friendly with the advantage of three rotational subs, much needed under the 27 degree conditions.
An early goal from miss Scarlett, buoyed a team which is still newly coming together with a quarter of the players new to the team or club this year.
Tarren's break up the right, holding on well to the ball delivered a second goal.
Whilst a third goal was not out of F&E's reach, the opposition came out stronger in the third quarter levelling to two all. The final quarter was the strongest with the intensity ratched up from mid field making the fight in the final 23 in the last six minites stronger. It's this more gutsy approach and step-up in team 'push-and-pace' that will be needed to open the season in a week's time.
