All goals were scored in the first half Lewis walking away with two goals and Tom with one.
Man of the match went to Lewis for intense running most of the match with amazing effort. The man seemed unstoppable! Non stop running and work rate. Intercepting balls in dangerous positions and generally had an amazing game!
DOD awarded to Seb Smith for a Green card, after being shoulder barged from behind during a short corner. After some discussion and a mild squaring up between the two players, it appeared a couple of minute cool off was necessary (a bit harsh!). Kieran’s squarial won a few votes for this award but not enough to let Seb off the hook.
The match started very well quickly going 1-0 up thanks to a short corner. We loved our right hand side during the first half and were dominating the game possession with some great elements of play. A very physical opposition who liked to lead with elbows and shoulders. The use of the ball doing the work frustrated the opposition early and set a high standard of play throughout. 2-0 thanks to another short corner, followed by a lovely open play goal making the score 3-0. All this within the first half.
There was some outstanding moments with beautiful one twos all the way up the pitch. The communication from the back all the way to the top was much improved from previous games helped contribute to a well set up defensive strategy. Second half with some tired legs but managed to keep the game under control. An incredible and insane off the head save meant the score remained at 3-1! ‘On yah head!’
