We travelled to Woking for what was set to be a tough game but coming off a win from our first game of the season we weren’t going to make it easy for them.
For the first few minutes we played some good hockey with interplay down both sides, however Woking ended up with an early goal slightly against the run of play. From then onwards they had a strong foothold in the game. We were not completely out of it winning some shorts which didn’t result in anything. A few goals followed from the home side to make the score at halftime 4-0 (could have been more but Nick pulled off a series of very good saves).
Second half was a bit of a different story with F&E with many chances on the break resulting in 1-1s but their keeper closed down the distance well. Shots into his chest pad were a recurring theme throughout the half. Our goal came from a 2Z short corner with Kyle delivering a ball into the D and Metcalfe with a deflection into the top corner. They scored again making the final score 5-1.
A few things to work on in training then home next week against Reigate Priory 2s.
Thank you to Lala and Jack H for coaching on the sidelines ?
Mom - OVK for overall lovely play and beating 3/4 players in the middle of the pitch more often than not.
Dod - Me for my poor sock choice (Bugs Bunny x Superman for anyone wondering) which made for a questionable combination with my slides.
