In absence of our DOTD writing a match report I shall provide the details.
I'll keep it brief. It's reached that time of year when the league games approach and M1 play Alton M1 in somewhat of a traditional 'see where we're at' fixture. Each year is a little different but generally enjoyable games.
This year, the M1 have had a long build up, with 2 previous games and a good few trainings under our belt. We've learned lessons, trialed players in new positions and got to know the fantastic Lisa Scarborough and Greg John Rutherford (team manager) as a squad.
We lost our game against Alton, with one cheap disappointing goal, and one very well worked effort by our oponants. We did have spells of good hockey, the majority at the start of the game, with the last quarter particularly highlighting our need to play smarter as the game progresses.
Despite this, I'm looking forward to our first league fixture next week against OGs, and am pleased with the commitment the squad have shown so far.
Motm was a well deserved Archie Horne, with DOTD going to Jamie Cashman for talking himself into a ?
