Mens Vets / The Old Deer's (other names are under consideration....) v Warlocks and v Handbags at LWC. Thankyou everyone who played in our double-header today - fun in the sun was had by all! We had a squad of 15 spanning all Men's teams and were joined by John McFadzean, Nick Eva (first match for 5 years I think) and Dan Wall (cheers for travelling from Swindon!). We played some really decent hockey today and were comfortable in first match against Warlocks winning 3-0 and I think we won the second 6-0 (happy to be corrected) - clearly a combination of age / the weather/ our dynamic play confused me. Many got on the scoresheet including Nick with a thunderous shot. Other highlights included Stuart's searing runs from midfield, Matt Bradley having a brilliant match, Dan running after every ball particularly when the rest of us tired and some stonking teas. Thank you James Islip for umpiring. Looking forward to match next week which might now be same format, watch this space
