BOURNEMOUTH 6  Away

Although a 9-0 loss is not a result I would normally write home about, I feel I ought to mention that had it not been for an outstanding performance in goal by Cameron Booker, the result could have been a
whole lot worse.

We travelled to Bournemouth with only 10 players, it could have been 9 had I not had a text in the morning to say James Dale Heaps was available to play.

The first 10 minutes of the game was pretty even, with most of the play in the middle area of the pitch and neither side penetrating far into the D, however the combination of the lack of an 11th man and players
unused to playing in defence, allowed the opposition to score some easy goals despite the valiant attempts by Cameron to keep them at bay. I regret to say that yours truly made some basic errors that led to one
of the goals!

The miidfield combination of James Ware, Mark White, James Dale Heaps and Jack Chapman worked well, although there were few opportunities to get into the opposition area in the first half. the score at half time
was 4-0.

We remained with a positive attitude going into the second half, although once again allowed an early couple of goals with poor marking.  I swopped James Dale-Heaps with Iain Ransome on the left, James at the back, which was I believe a wise choice. James and Lewis showed off some good skills and Alex made some crucial tackles on the right side of the pitch. Dan is beginning to grow in confidence and Jack Chapman made some good runs down the right. We dominated the last 10 minutes and did have the ball in the back of their net, a one touch strike by James Ware, only to be disallowed as the ball had deflected of Jacks feet!

I noted that a number of saves made by Cameron drew comments of admiration from the opposition - he was clearly our man of the match.
